I am so TERRIBLE at blogging

I can totally write a billion facebook statuses a day, but blogging? I am so bad at it. I know it is a fabulous way to market my items and talk about knitting but really?! It has been MONTHS since my last post. New Year's resolution (starting in October): a WEEKLY blog. Or maybe... bi weekly. I don't know, I feel like that is a bit ambitious. We'll see.

On the Craftyness side of things, my Etsy shop is doing wonderfully. Once it got cold, I started selling Pumpkin cowls like hotcakes. And then the braided headbands. And now, I have two Blueberry cowls to make in the next week. AHHH! I have been relatively successful (just busy enough to take away all my free time when I'm not doing homework) but I don't know if I'll be able to handle a heavier workload/knit load. We'll see. I'm sure I can. :)

Here are some of my items that are selling really well right now:

The Pumpkin cowl. I have made at least 10 of them, if not more

These braided headbands are so popular! And adorable!

I haven't put this hat for sale yet because I don't have a model for it. I LOVE it though, and if it doesn't sell instantly then I am going to keep it for myself :)))

All right, ladies and gents. I will (maybe) see you next week.
Hasta pronto!

Home!

Well, unfortunately, no craftyness to report, but I got to go home this weekend! I am currently living in my college town for the summer because I got a job there, and since I don't have a car, trips home are pretty far and few between. I have been kind of homesick all summer, being alone in Pullman, so I have taken advantage of every ride to western WA I can. This weekend, my mom and I went to Seattle and shopped all over Pike Place for hours, went to Lush (and I got a FANTASTIC conditioner bar that I'm going to start using at the pool!!!), and shopped all around Westlake Mall. After, my mom and I went to a club to see my sister's boyfriend's "School of Rock" band perfrom. He is only 16, and he was AWESOME! He played trumpet for most of the concert because the theme of the night was motown. He had so much energy and was so fun to watch!

Unfortunately, I had to say goodbye to my sister at around 6:30am on Friday morning. This was the last time I'm going to see her until August, due to a month long exchange in Germany she'll be starting in 2 weeks. This weekend, she went to cross country camp so I didn't get to see her hardly at all. I'm really bummed about that, but we'll keep in touch online until then :)

On Saturday, we went to an area around Shelton to visit my grandparents, aunt, uncle, and cousins, who were camping. It was great to see everyone and to celebrate Father's day with my family.

Overall, it was a great weekend. I hope I get to go home soon (maybe over the 4th of July?) but we'll see if I can get a ride home :)

New hat!

These past few weeks have been super hectic for me. I work as a lifeguard at the local pool and I have been getting a ton of hours. Not that I'm complaining, because I love getting the money, but I hardly have time to knit anymore! Haha. I love my job. I lifeguard and teach swim lessons, and this past weekend the outdoor pool opened so I'll be getting my tan on a few times a week :) The kids I teach are adorable, and the lifeguarding is pretty nice. I've made a lot of new friends there, which is fantastic because I hardly know anyone who is staying in Pullman for the summer, and I've met a lot of fantastic members at the pool who I enjoy talking to.
Anyway... I have been knitting off and on in my free time, and I just managed to finish a pretty fantastic hat! I bought the yarn in a consignment bin at a local yarn shop in Moscow, Idaho a few months ago, and I couldn't figure out what to do with it once I bought it! I finally decided to make a hat, and I LOVE it. The yarn is really bulky and soft, which makes the hat super warm. I don't even care though. I'd wear it all summer anyway, but I am REALLY hoping someone will buy it! There are a few random threads sticking out of one side, so I'm not sure what to price it at. I was thinking around $15... What do you think of it?? :)

Spring and Summer products

I worked on quite a few projects over the past two months that I wanted to post but couldn't due to a lack of models. I always feel really awkward photographing people, so ideally I use my sister as a model. However, since I live and go to school in Pullman and she lives at home in Port Orchard, the six hour commute does not make it easy to have her model my things. So, when I was home for Memorial Day, I photographed her in my new (and amazing, if I do say so myself) items. Check them out! They are all for sale at http://www.etsy.com/shop/PursuitOfCraftyness?ref=pr_shop_more !!!

New blog!

I have decided to start blogging about my crafts to get my name out. I love knitting and I create really unique, one of a kind items! Who knows if this will work, or if I'll even keep this updated, but here's to trying!
